VCX Forum was recently featured at Intel’s annual Client Ecosystem Symposium events held in Shanghai (20–22 May) and Taipei (27–29 May 2026).

Anthony PresentationsThe Intel Client Ecosystem Symposium is a technical industry event that brings together hardware vendors (IHVs), software vendors (ISVs), OEMs, and ODMs to discuss future platform technologies and foster collaboration across the PC ecosystem. The symposium serves as an important forum for aligning industry partners on next-generation technology development and innovation.

As part of the event, Anthony Orchard, Intel Camera Technologist and Chair of the VCX Webcam Working Group, delivered a presentation highlighting the role of VCX-Webcam in advancing camera quality across the PC industry.

During his presentation, Orchard discussed how the adoption of the VCX-Webcam standard has contributed to measurable improvements in webcam performance since its introduction in 2023. He highlighted several positive developments across the ecosystem, including rising average VCX scores, increased participation by certified laboratories, and a growing number of devices achieving higher levels of camera performance.

Orchard also encouraged ecosystem partners to continue investing in camera quality through objective measurement and standardised evaluation methodologies, emphasising the importance of delivering better user experiences in an increasingly video-centric world.

The session also provided an opportunity to showcase VCX Forum and its activities to a broader audience of technology vendors, software developers, platform partners, OEMs, and ODMs participating in Intel’s future platform initiatives.

VCX Forum appreciates Intel’s continued support and engagement in promoting objective image quality assessment and industry-wide quality standards. Supported by contributions from its members, VCX continues to develop and maintain independent evaluation frameworks across its various programmes, including Webcam, PhoneCam, Smart Home Security Camera (SHSC), and emerging imaging categories.

By bringing together industry stakeholders around transparent, repeatable, and objective quality measurements, VCX remains committed to helping manufacturers improve imaging performance while providing meaningful and transparent quality benchmarks for manufacturers, reviewers, and consumers.
