DXOMARK Joins VCX-Forum to Strengthen Transparent and Fair Image Quality Standards
VCX-Forum is pleased to announce that DXOMARK has officially joined as a new member. This collaboration marks a significant step in our shared mission to align with industry trends and promote transparent, fair, and scientifically rigorous evaluation standards for image quality.
Since its founding in 2017, VCX-Forum has become the leading body for objective benchmarking across smartphones, laptops, and webcams. Our VCX-WebCam benchmark, now widely adopted in the PC industry, reflects real-world user needs through reproducible and transparent testing protocols.
DXOMARK brings over a decade of expertise in developing scientific testing protocols for cameras, displays, audio, and batteries. As a member, DXOMARK will contribute technical know-how, lab infrastructure, and market insights to support VCX-Forum’s initiatives in emerging areas such as webcams, XR, and security imaging.
Anthony Orchard, Chair of the VCX-WebCam Department, commented:
“VCX-Forum’s strength lies in uniting the ecosystem around independent and fair test protocols that provide meaningful, user-study correlated results. DXOMARK’s long history in image quality evaluation makes it an ideal partner as we continue to adapt our standards in line with evolving industry trends.”
As Anthony emphasized, ecosystem collaboration lies at the heart of what we do. The addition of DXOMark to our membership adds their expertise and experience to support and further develop the independent, objective frameworks and methodologies we are already driving through VCX-forum in webcams, XR and security cameras.
Together, VCX-Forum and DXOMARK aim to ensure that manufacturers and consumers benefit from evaluation standards that are transparent, fair, and aligned with the latest market trends, enabling the delivery of visual experiences that truly matter to users.
