The VCX Forum held its annual Face-to-Face Meeting from September 9 to 11, 2026, hosted by Pal-Lab.
Over three days, members reviewed ongoing projects, discussed future test methods, and addressed the Forum’s organisational priorities.
1. Technical Updates and Working Sessions
The meeting opened with updates from the PhoneCam(Uwe Artmann), WebCam(Anthony Orchard), XR(Vickrant Zunjarrao), and Smart Home Security Camera(Dietmar Wueller) groups.
Joint sessions explored AI’s role in the imaging industry, subjective image quality assessment, including a noise survey, and HDR testing.
The second day focused on working group discussions.
PhoneCam sessions reviewed HDR test data and video performance for the 2026 version, including relevant KPIs.
The WebCam group reviewed the 2026 specification, ongoing metric development, subjective study planning, and priorities for its next major revision.
The Smart Home Security Camera group discussed its mission and spec document work, while the XR session on the opening day addressed the project’s status and future direction.
2. Lab Certification and Forum Governance
On the final day, the Lab Authority department presented the lab certification process and requirements and collected feedback from members.
The Annual General Meeting covered the finance report(Jangjer Tsai) and discussions regarding membership fees, discounts for multi-year membership payments, the financial plan, and the Marketing Chair and Cash Auditors.
The event concluded with a tour of Pal-Lab, a VCX Forum Certified Lab and the host of this F2F, giving members a closer look at the host’s testing facilities.
Thank you to Pal-Lab for hosting us and to all participants for sharing their expertise and contributing to the discussions. The work continues through our regular group meetings and collaborative projects.
